EnergySolutions Awarded Large Component Contract From Exelon Nuclear

EnergySolutions, Inc. (NYSE: ES) announced today it has signed a $24.3 million contract with Exelon Nuclear to remove and dispose of obsolete materials and equipment from several of the utilities' power plants.

"We appreciate the confidence the company has in EnergySolutions to be part of the team that will help them upgrade major components resulting in additional emissions free power generation at these stations," said Steve Creamer, CEO and Chairman.

EnergySolutions will remove some of the equipment that is either no longer in use or is being replaced with more technologically advanced components. The material will be transported to EnergySolutions' facility in Clive, Utah.

EnergySolutions offers customers a full range of integrated services and solutions, including nuclear operations, characterization, decommissioning, decontamination, site closure, transportation, nuclear materials management, processing, recycling, and disposition of nuclear waste, and research and engineering services across the nuclear fuel cycle.
